CITY BUDGET

CITY BUDGET – including Children’s Services – the process starts immediately in the New Year

BUDGET PROCESS SCHEDULE: ( much shorter Budget process than ever before!)
*January 10:  BUDGET LAUNCH – the TCBCC will monitor closely! and alert the community to ANY proposed Cuts

*January 11-14: Budget Committee meets to review all budgets – we will work to reach the members of that committee
*January 19-20: PUBLIC DEPUTATIONS will be heard (see details below)
*January 24 – February 28. the Budget Committee will review . . .wrap-up . . . and forward to the Executive Committee and Council)

 PUBLIC DEPUTATIONS:

The Budget Committee is breaking into two subcommittees. . .  hold two evening sessions for public deputations on January 19 and 20. *Subcommittee for Scarborough and North York Consultations (Councillors Frank Di Giorgio – , Doug Ford (chair of subcommittee), Peter Milczyn and John Parker)
*Subcommittee for Etobicoke York, Toronto and East York Consultations (Councillors Del Grande (chair of subcommittee and Budget Committee), Berardinetti and Lee)

The TCBCC will be assisting the community after January 10th Budget Launch, to make deputations and/or send messages (by e-mail, phone) to their Councillors if they wish to. No details yet on who to contact to register for deputations  . . . also not clear if/how the City will accommodate the public if there is a great demand to take part in deputations or specific deputation sessions.

 Public Deputation Dates:
North York Civic Centre, Council Chambers: January 19, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
East York Civic Centre, Council Chambers: January 19, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
Scarborough Civic Centre, Council Chambers: January 20, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
York Civic Centre, Council Chambers: January 20, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
